Sustainability at Starbucks
During my time at Starbucks, I was involved with sustainability projects and initiatives—working to support the company’s goals towards reducing waste, improving energy efficiency, and reducing our carbon footprint. I lead various sustainability projects including: redesigning the Partners for Sustainability advocacy group logo and branding, developing the creative expression guide for Starbucks sustainability, creating a digital social campaign to encourage customers to bring in their own reusable cup, and designing the customer experience for a citywide reusable cup test in California.

Reusable Cup PILOT Program
In 2024, I lead a reusable cup test campaign. The initiative involved over 30 businesses in Petaluma, California, offering beverages in purple reusable cups instead of single-use ones. Our task was to create a 100% reusables ecosystem across brands—leveraging the NextGen brand toolkit while maintaining the Starbucks brand identity. Our deliverables included new, reusable cup messaging and artwork, store signage, and owned channel marketing. Results from the test show more than 220,000 reusable cups were returned across the city, proving that city-wide reuse systems can be viable at scale.
